There are many things we can look forward to in life. Whether it be the weekend coming up, the fiancee we are waiting to wed, the house we are hoping to buy one day, or the retirement we can't wait to be realized, there are thresholds that many of us look forward to crossing one day or another. Some of these things that we hope for might be short lived (like the weekend) or long-lasting (like marriage, ideally...). I pray that all of the things that you look forward to may be good and may be realized in your life one day.
However, the purpose that undergirds life and creation itself is far more secure, long suffering, and eternal than anything else that we can aspire to in our mortal lives - the reality that we are formed by a God who loves us and means to save us. This is the eternal, infinite reality that can and should ground our being. More than that, this eternal truth can and should give purpose and meaning to everything we do and every moment we live. May God make it so.
